The year 2012 is the apex of a 25,765-year cycle spoken about in the codex of the Mayan culture. The ending of this aspect of the Mayan calendar only marks an event or procession and not the end of the world. This cycle involves a transformation regarding several principles, which I will describe later. First, let us look at some of the physical indications of the evolution of this cycle.

On December 21, the earth and the sun line up with the center of our Milky Way. The journey the Earth has made around the galactic universe, especially the last 2,000 years of the cycle, is weakening the magnetic poles and fields. The South and North Poles are shifting and the magnetic lines that come out of the South Pole and wrap around and enter into the North Pole are becoming weaker. The earth’s magnetic field has decreased by 10% in the past century, is continuing to decrease, and the rate of that decrease is accelerating.

Many scientists believe, and the evidence supports it, that the weakening of the magnetic field heralds a pole shift. The shift of magnetic pole is moving 40 miles a year from Canada and is currently located in Siberia. Scientist have reported they believe this is the reason some of the whales beached themselves. The whales use the magnetic lines for navigation during their life cycles. Now, as they follow the magnetic line, the magnetic line runs the whales aground. Greenland, in 2011, experienced the rising of their sun two days earlier than expected. These are examples of the changes occurring in the magnetic field of the Earth.

Another physical manifestation as the Sun and Earth align with the Milky Way’s center is the increased solar flares of our Sun. All of these changes are occurring due to the magnetic shifts that have been experienced over the last several hundreds of years.
What though, are the consequences of these magnetic changes on the human psyche? The Mayans and the Hopi describe it as a time when the Masculine Principle retreats and the Feminine Principle becomes more active. It is a 180 degree shift from one bipolar pole of what has been driving humanity for the last 12,000 years to the other pole. We will experience the opposing pole, such as a movement from the masculine to the feminine.
What would a world that operates from a feminine perspective look like?

I liken this to a progression away from “mind over matter” to “mind within matter”. Emphasis will be on a person’s relationship to things, people and situations versus a power perspective in order to control, and make things happen. The Masculine Principle operates more from a separating, logical and action-driven function, “This is me and that is not me”, derives logical conclusions and acts on that perception. Where we have seen the dark side of this principle is through war, class distinctions, and power-driven corporations.
The Feminine principle is concerned with unity or oneness, intuitive-driven, as it gathers information from unseen aspects of life, then takes action. The dark side of this principle is not having individuation, overwhelmed in chaos and helplessness and fear to take action. Both principles serve human evolution, but each have their time in the sun and the next 12,000 years will be about the feminine experience being more in the forefront.

The feminine experience contains the importance of the heart-based consciousness versus the ego-based consciousness. The ego-based consciousness operates from the separating, Masculine Principle. The heart-based consciousness operates from unity and the Feminine Principle. Jesus heralded in the heart-based consciousness aspect of this principle 2000 years ago. It is the next challenge of humanity to connect the heart to the brain and the joining of the masculine, logical-driven approaches to creativity and the feminine, intuitive-driven approaches to creativity.

We begin by bringing our awareness from the head down to the heart chakra (center of the chest) and perceiving life as it unfolds from this perceptual space. As we practice from this place of attending, then as the Earth returns home to it’s galactic mother, the Milky Way, the changes in the magnetic pulses will have less affect on our psyches and we will not be carried away by the chaos that is ensuing by this major alignment in the universe.
